Lightly spray the base and sides of your baking tin with spray oil. This helps the baking paper adhere securely and stay in place.
Using scissors, cut a sheet of baking paper to fit the base of your tin. For round tins, trace the base onto the paper and cut out the circle. For square tins, cut a piece slightly larger than the base and allow some overhang for easy lifting.
If needed, cut strips of baking paper to fit the sides of your tin. Lightly grease the paper to help it stick to the tin walls.
Press the paper firmly into the base and corners of the tin. Ensure there are no air bubbles or loose edges.
Always line your baking tin before mixing your batter to avoid delays. Lining helps protect delicate bakes and ensures easier clean-up. For extra neat edges, fold and crease your paper neatly at corners or use pre-cut liners.
